Our Family

We are Mark, Jenni, Tate and Theo Stearns.

Mark and Jenni met in July, 2000, at a Christian summer camp at the base of Mt. Ranier in Washington state.   Being five years older, Mark was a counselor and I was a camper.  I don’t remember much about our first meeting, except that one of the girls in my group of friends saying that one of us were going to have to marry Mark eventually, because he would be a good addition to the family.

We started dating a couple of years later after we had graduated (college for him and high school for me).  After living 3000 miles apart for about 9 months, Mark proposed  and we were married 9 months later.

Since then life has been a near constant adventure.  We’ve lived all over, even doing a 6 month stint in Korea.  With all the places we’ve been and all the beauty we’ve seen, we feel most at home and most called to serve in Nicaragua.  We are trying to faithfully follow as God opens the doors for us to serve there long term.
